The Administrative Office of the United States Courts, Defender Services Office (DSO)

The Defender Services Office, under the supervision of the Judicial Conference of the United States and the Director of the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, has primary responsibility for the administration of the Criminal Justice Act (CJA), 18 U.S.C. § 3006A, and related statutes, which were enacted to provide a system for payment of the cost of providing defense services to financially eligible federal criminal defendants.
